One of your most frequently asked questions is about my favorite supplies, and what I would recommend for beginners just getting started in brush/hand lettering. These are the exact tools I use to teach brush lettering workshops, and I’m excited to share my secrets with you. I’ve also included some of my favorite intermediate tools, and some lifestyle favorites, too!

Favorite (Large) Brush Pens for Beginners
(Great price for 10 pens, AND includes
a “blender pen”, so you can create
ombre lettering! Love this palette of
bright colors.)

Favorite (Small) Brush Pens
I highly suggest ordering the pack of 2,
because there are 2 different “tips” that you will definitely want to experience.

Favorite Water Brush Pen
(Perfect for watercolor lettering!)
I use fine tip.

Favorite (Flexible) Brush Pens
These are the brush pens I got started with, which is funny because they are so flexible I would consider them great for “intermediate letterers” or those with any lettering experience. I love the contrast of the thins and thicks with this pen. The ink is quality, opaque, permanent and long lasting. BIG FAN.

I dilute with water and use with
a tiny paint brush or water brush.
This white ink is the best. It’s
opaque, it doesn’t smudge (after
it has dried), it’s quality and
long lasting.

FAVORITE Gold Watercolor Palette
At every workshop I host, I tell
students, “go ahead and order
this and thank me later.” Ha!
This gold watercolor set is
DREAMY, quality and shimmery.
Go ahead and order it, and let me
know what you think. One of my
favorite purchases ever!

Favorite Light Pad
I’ve had this one for about forever! It is quality, and has lasted all of these years without breaking.
I use my light pad for making guides or straight lines underneath whatever I am lettering, without having to go through the trouble of erasing pencil marks. I also use it for “tracing” over my own lettering.

Life Changing
Weighted Blanket (15 lbs)
I use this 15 lb. weighted blanket every night to help with my sleep and anxiety. It feels like a comforting hug! I wanted a quality weighted blanket that would hold up, is safe and non-toxic, made with glass beads (instead of plastic beads, ick!), and is machine washer and dryer safe.
This is THE ONE!
