One of your most frequently asked questions is about my favorite supplies, and what I would recommend for beginners just getting started in brush/hand lettering. These are the exact tools I use to teach brush lettering workshops, and I’m excited to share my secrets with you. I’ve also included some of my favorite intermediate tools, and some lifestyle favorites, too!

Favorite (Flexible) Brush Pens
These are the brush pens I got started with, which is funny because they are so flexible I would consider them great for “intermediate letterers” or those with any lettering experience. I love the contrast of the thins and thicks with this pen. The ink is quality, opaque, permanent and long lasting. BIG FAN.
Favorite Light Pad
I’ve had this one for about forever! It is quality, and has lasted all of these years without breaking.
I use my light pad for making guides or straight lines underneath whatever I am lettering, without having to go through the trouble of erasing pencil marks. I also use it for “tracing” over my own lettering.

Life Changing
Weighted Blanket (15 lbs)
I use this 15 lb. weighted blanket every night to help with my sleep and anxiety. It feels like a comforting hug! I wanted a quality weighted blanket that would hold up, is safe and non-toxic, made with glass beads (instead of plastic beads, ick!), and is machine washer and dryer safe.
This is THE ONE!
